How Can it Help You Choose the Right HVAC Contractor?
Many HVAC businesses claim to offer excellent service, but can they prove it? A NATE certification is like our industry’s seal-of-approval when it comes to technicians, and it’s something Coachella Valley homeowners can look for when choosing the contractor that’s right for them.
So what exactly is NATE certification and what does it mean to have a NATE-certified technician provide service in your home?
What is NATE certification?
NATE is an acronym for North American Technician Excellence. It is a non-profit organization that tests and certifies the knowledge and skills of HVAC technicians. NATE is a voluntary program, which means the technicians who become NATE certified (and the business owners who represent them) are committed to excellent service.
Hydes is a NATE C-3 contractor, which means more than half of our air conditioner technicians are NATE-certified.
In order to receive a NATE certification, a technician must pass a series of rigorous tests that demonstrate his or her knowledge of how to properly service and install HVAC systems.
What are the benefits of working with NATE-certified technicians?
- Helps you choose the right contractor. With so many HVAC businesses to choose from, it can be hard to know how to find a contractor you can trust. Businesses with NATE-certified technicians like the ones at Hydes will stand out from the pack and are sure to offer excellent service.
- Ensures installations and repairs are done the right way. The fact that a technician has passed the NATE tests proves that he or she knows exactly how to best install and service your HVAC system. This leads to fewer (or no) callbacks and ensures that your system is installed and running properly.
- Increases the efficiency and performance of your units. In order to reach its peak efficiency, an HVAC system must be installed and serviced the right way. When you work with a NATE-certified technician, you can trust that your system will keep your home comfortable and your energy bills low.
- NATE certifications must be renewed every two years. Technicians who are already NATE certified must earn 16 credits within the two-year certification period. This will keep their certification up-to-date and help the technicians to be familiar with the latest technology and equipment.
