Where To Install Your Carbon Monoxide Detectors
According to the State Building Code Requirements, effective January 1, 2019, carbon monoxide alarms should be installed in the following locations:

Outside of each separate sleeping area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms.
- One every occupiable level of a dwelling unit, including basements.
- Where a fuel-burning appliance is located in a bedroom or its attached bedroom, a carbon monoxide alarm shall be installed within the bedroom.
- Carbon monoxide alarms shall receive their primary power from the building wiring and shall have a battery backup. There are some exceptions - please contact Hydes for help with these exceptions.
