Heating and Cooling Service FAQs
It costs around $3,500-$12,000+ to replace an air conditioning unit in Palm Springs, CA. Price will vary based on several factors:
- The size of your house.
- The type of air conditioning unit you have installed.
- The cost to remove your current AC unit.
Getting your current air conditioning unit replaced is a good way to improve the climate control in your home and also cut down on energy and repair costs.
Your AC unit may be running but not cooling your home in Palm Springs, CA because:
- Your air filters are blocked
- Your AC unit has a refrigerant leak
- Your evaporator coil is dirty or frozen
If your AC unit is running but not cooling your home, there may be a deeper issue going on with your air conditioner. If you replace your air filters and set your thermostat correctly and it is still not working properly, you should have an HVAC technician repair your AC unit.
Minor HVAC repairs, such as fuses, breakers or thermostat replacement, cost between $150 and $290. You can expect to spend $200 to $1,500 on substantial repairs such as repairing a refrigerant leak or evaporator coil.
Additional heating and cooling repairs will increase the cost, but keeping your furnace and central air conditioning system in good working order will save you money in the long run. The cost of air conditioning repair will also vary depending on the size of your home and the brand and type of heating and cooling system you have installed.
For simple tune-ups, regular AC maintenance costs $75 to $200. Extended service contracts range from $150 to $500 and cover the entire HVAC system, including heating and cooling.
Maintenance calls typically include cleaning the condenser and performing a series of checks to ensure that your system is operating properly. We'll also look for other repair and maintenance issues. Standard AC tune-ups do not usually include evaporator coil or duct cleaning.
The best time to have AC maintenance done is in spring, but if your air conditioning tune-up was overlooked, you can have it done anytime during summer to improve your AC’s performance.
